Jess Braden
(b. 1985, Santa Cruz California)
A byproduct of residual hippie idealism and the brash environment of professional kitchen culture, Jess has always taken the long way around. She holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Printmaking from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in both Art History and English.
Jess’s work has been shown at Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment (Huntsville, AL), Todd Art Gallery (Murfreesboro, TN), Remarque Print Workshop (Albuquerque, New Mexico), and Paperworkers Local (Birmingham, AL). She is a recipient of the Jeffrey Bayer Memorial Scholarship at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, awarded for a body of work (2024).
She’s been a workshop participant at Women's Studio Workshop (Rosendale, NY, 2024) and has presented research at the Richard Macksey National Undergraduate Research Symposium at Johns Hopkins (2024, 2025), The University of Alabama in Birmingham (2024) and the SUNY New Paltz Art History Symposium (2025).
She currently resides in the Tennessee Valley with her husband, children and legion of cats.
